Whether it's your real life horse to be memorialized as a model or painting the horse of your dreams, I aim to create a unique custom model horse just for you. My one of a kind custom model horses are art pieces you can hold, display, and love. If you have a Breyer model you want painted but don't know what it is, I highly recommend using the Identify Your Breyer website.

The Process

Submit A Request Form
The first step is to submit a commission request form. Include as many details as possible about what you desire your one of a kind custom model horse to look like, and photos of the model you have or references if applicable. Be sure to let me know if you will need prepwork or model sourcing. After the request is submitted, I will reach out to your email to send you an initial quote, and answer any questions you may have. I will work with you to ensure I can create the best result.

Customizing The Model Horse
After payment is agreed upon and the deposit, prepwork fees (if applicable) and model sourcing fees (if applicable) are paid, the model horse can be customized once I receive it. I use airbrush acrylics, hand-painted acrylics, pastel pigments, colored pencil, and gloss to achieve realistic, clean finishwork results. I gloss eyes, hooves, nostrils, and the mouth unless I am requested otherwise. To protect the finishwork, every model is finished with layers of matte sealant.

Finishing The Custom
Throughout the customizing process, I regularly communicate with the client with updates and progress photos. Once the model is finished and the client is satisfied with the custom finishwork, the model is shipped to the client. Photos of commissioned models are uploaded to my social media accounts and to my website portfolio. I also love to include photos sent to me of the custom taken by the client once received!
